In short, whenever you want to build a rear/side extension along the boundary you are most likely required to serve section 1&6 notice to your neighbours. Thinking of placing a few steel beams rested on the party wall or removing a chimney breast? You’ve guessed it, another section 3 notice needs to be served to your neighbours.
At HM Structures, we can act as both your Building Owner Surveyor (if you are undertaking the works and wish to appoint us to act on your behalf), or, we can act as your Adjoining Owner Surveyor if your neighbour is doing the works.
